The Church of St Mary of Grace

A late Romanic temple, constructed in 1274 that stands out for its secondary portal and also for its Romanic altarpiece of granite that is found in the Chapel of Earls, where the passion of Christ is narrated in twelve scenes. Also highlighted are the sepulchral arches, paintings from the XIV century and an image of the pregnant Virgin. Also with high relief and scallops that represent the Way of Saint James (Camino de Santiago), that remind us of the oyster and scallop shells that were found during the excavations carried out at the palace, examples of an exceptional diet consumed by a privileged minority.
Extended between the XIV-XV centuries, it possesses a building covered by wood having a rectangular apse with a ribbed vault. Also standing out artistically is the north facade, a representation of Paradise adorned with animals, plants and angels.
